This guest interview is with TeeTime, a content creator, bringing encouragement and positivity into our homes through her You Tube channel (TeeTime). TeeTime has also recently started PnC massage therapy which aims to provide you with the best massage experience.
This interview is not only to know a little more about TeeTime, but it is also to provide some encouragement, through her journey as we go towards the end of the year! Be blessed 💫
1 – What is your biggest inspiration in life?
My Family. My Dad is really supportive, my biggest fan and he is so encouraging. My mum is a prayer warrior, so tough, her ability to get up after a hard fall is beyond me. I hope I inherit that from her. My siblings are my heart! I’m the eldest but they are really my older brothers and sisters lol. They tell me to ignore negative thoughts, and I do everything I do because of them. To be able to set a great example, to be able to help them get on their feet in the best way possible is so important to me.
2- What inspired you to start a YouTube channel and could you give a little background on what your YouTube channel is about?
I started TeeTime because I had reached a place where I was trying to find my voice. I grew up a bit sheltered, and I was practically told what to do by people around me. But one day I realised I didn’t really know what I wanted, until I decided to do something that isn’t expected of me and to do something I’ve never done before to see results. I also saw it as a way to encourage anybody watching, through sharing my thoughts, my personality and lots of positivity. TeeTime is me, I call it my baby, it’s my toddler now lol. I have everything on there; Family, Friends, Conversations, Interviews and Vlogs. It’s not just one thing, It shows the different sides there are to me as a person.
3- What would you say was your biggest challenge when filming Season One of Tee Time and how did you overcome it?
One of my biggest challenges with Season 1 was getting over the nerves I felt, allowing my personality to shine above the nerves. I overcame it by changing my perspective. Instead of focusing on me stumbling on my words or forgetting to ask a question, I just focused on having a great conversation and making my guests very comfortable. At the end, it worked, the more comfortable they felt, the more comfortable I became in front of the camera.
4- What advice would you give to someone aspiring to set up their own YouTube channel?
I know this is so cliché, but you really need to know your ‘Why’. Honestly, it’s the only thing that will get you through tough times, times when you don’t ‘feel’ like doing what usually comes easy to you, when you’re bored or feel discouraged by progress, it will keep you going.
5- Why do you think it is so important to have a vision board and how has it helped you? Do you plan on creating a new vision board for 2019?
A vision board helps! But there is no point in having one if no action will follow. The ideas on one’s board won’t magically ‘Waltz’ their way into one’s reality by themselves, one must put in the work. I think it’s in the name, “Vision board”. It’s constantly in your vision, what you see, so you are reminded even in times when you lose focus and abandon main priorities. I will probably have another one in 2019.
6- What is the most important thing your family has taught you, and how has this helped you on your journey so far?
My family have taught me quite a few things. The most important lesson is the value of having people who really love you around you. When the going gets tough, I know who to count on, who will help me. They may not be able to solve the problem but their love during any hardship or challenge is enough.
7- As a Christian, how has your faith helped you to get to where you are today?
I need a whole page for this question!!! I have so many answers in my head, but I can’t even put most of them into words! One of my favourite bible passages is Habakkuk 2v3 (the vision is for an appointed time, though it tarries, wait for it, it will surely come…). I’m paraphrasing now but yeah Lol! This verse has taken me through some of the hardest times. Sometimes in life when things get difficult. I think sometimes, it’s easy for me to forget what God told me or what He has shown me when I’m hit with Lemonades. But the assurance of that promise always gets me through.
8- What got you into acting and singing and what has kept you motivated to not give up?
Acting & Singing are things I like doing. I have a love & hate relationship with acting though; but the fulfilment I get after playing a challenging role is amazing. Singing I enjoy doing, I sing at church, but I really enjoy singing whilst washing the dishes lool I become Mariah Carey. It’s such a mood changer and stress reliever. When I’m stressed, discouraged or even happy or feeling some type of way, I pray, and belt notes in my own corner.
9- What is your greatest inspirational quote for 2018?
Lotssss of inspirational quotes, but for 2018 “Don’t fear the future, it’s the brightest of the tenses.” That’s from my little sister OluwaTeniola. Can you now see why my siblings are my heart lool.
10- As we are approaching the end of 2018, what are some of the ways you think you could to do better in 2019?
Reorganising my priorities, bettering my communication skills, doing my CIPD, spending time helping others and showing love to those who aren’t as fortunate.
I hope that you have been blessed and encouraged. Make sure to follow Tee Time on her socials:
